Aiming for results in just 1 – 3 sessions
First Appointment
Approximately 90 minutes and includes:
-
-
- Consultation
- Gait and posture analysis
- Palpation
- Massage treatment
-
Consultation
A short discussion to include a review of your dog’s:
-
-
- medical history and completed Vet Consent Form
- daily activities, exercise and diet
- personality, behaviour and how they like to be handled
-
I will also ask about your expectations of the massage treatments.

Gait and Posture Analysis
I will observe how your dog moves through walk, trot and canter. I will also assess how they distribute their weight and hold their body when they stand, sit and lie down. This will help me to identify areas of stiffness, restriction and overcompensation.
Palpation / Muscular Health Check
A short hands-on assessment will reveal areas where your dog may be experiencing discomfort or holding pain. I will feel for issues that often go undetected, such as soft tissue injuries, strains, scar tissue, trigger points, and areas of myofascial pain.

Massage Treatment
As every dog is an individual, each session is tailored to meet your dog’s specific needs.
Using all the information gathered, I will complete a full body massage and address the areas of concern.
I will continually monitor your dog’s physical and emotional responses, adapting and adjusting the treatment to ensure your dog’s comfort and wellbeing, and maintain their trust.
This part of the session will take up to 50 mins.
Feedback and Aftercare
At the end of the session I will provide:
-
-
- feedback and explain my findings using simple diagrams
- aftercare instructions
- a home care plan offering suggestions and recommendations to assist your dog’s recovery and continue with their care between appointments
-
Veterinary Consent
Before I can treat your dog, please contact me for a Veterinary Consent Form. Your Vet will need to sign it.
Veterinary consent is a legal requirement. I work in accordance with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and Exemptions Order 2015.
Follow Up Treatments
To ensure that you get the best results for your dog, an initial course of 3 massage treatments over 3 to 5 weeks is recommended. Follow up treatments last about 60 mins.
At the end of your dog’s course of treatment, a short written report will be shared with your vet.
I follow Best Practice Principles; if your dog shows no sign of improvement after 3 treatments, I will refer back to their vet for further investigation.
Similarly if I feel an alternative method of treatment may be more suitable, I will refer you back to your vet or suggest other therapies.

Maintenance Treatments
Many dogs benefit from regular maintenance treatments, the frequency of which is based on the individual dog’s requirements and client preference, but are typically carried out every 4 to 8 weeks.
Regular treatments can be especially beneficial in:
-
-
- maintaining flexibility and mobility in older dogs
- managing chronic pain for dogs with orthopaedic issues such as arthritis, hip or elbow dysplasia, or luxating patella
- improve performance in sporting or very active dogs
-
